Frequency Analysis |
|
With such a choice of frequency analysis systems available, we are uniquely able to configure a solution for your particular needs, whether it is for automotive order tracking or for sound power determination according to latest EC directives.
Now it is even easier to replace those big black boxes with one PC-based system!

Many suppliers seem to offer an increasingly bewildering array of PC-based frequency analysers, typically using FFT.
However, very few are optimised for sound & vibration applications, where not only high dynamic range and linearity are important, but in many cases, transducers conditioning is also required.
Traditionally, dedicated big-box analysers have scored in this area, but now, we can offer superb quality systems, based on hardware which features anti-aliasing, signal conditioning for microphones and accelerometers. High speed signal processors ensure real-time analysis and Windows applications software integrates your system into the desktop for easy reporting and archiving of results. |

The idea of having FFT in the palm of your hand would have been laughable only 10 years ago, but now it’s a standard option for most of the Svan 95x range. Whether it’s for diagnosing machine problems from vibration, or picking out tonal |

components in environmental noise, it’s now no more than a software option! With selectable bandwidth and resolution, you can even zoom right in to peaks in the spectrum to find that elusive whistle or hum.
The 958 uniquely does the analysis in four channels, and cross-channel capability and sound intensity is in the pipeline. |

The Samurai software from Sinus runs with the SoundBook, Harmonie and Symphonie systems, up to 8 channels, and offers real-time analysis in 1/n octave and narrow band FFT. Samurai is just as happy with noise and vibration signals, and calibration is a simple process. Displays are completely customisable, and additional options include video recording using a webcam, to fully document your measurements. Extension software covers sound power, building acoustics and sound intensity |

Squadriga from HEAD acoustics is a cracking bit of kit, with 4 channel input, as well as two tacho inputs. This makes it ideal for acquiring data from automotive sources, for post-processing in the ArtemiS or NoiseBook software.
Data is recorded to flash memory, and depending on the sample rate chosen, the recording time can be several hours. Data is transferred to your PC using USB connection, and an easy wizard steps you through the calibration.
SQuadriga can also be used as a real-time front-end with the ArtemiS Online Analyser, making a flexible tool for all kinds of NVH applications.
The box only weighs 430 grams with built-in rechargeable battery, and a headset is available for binaural measurements, for sound quality applications. Signals can be played back on site using a standard set of headphones |
